As An Advisor, Take Time to Celebrate Small Wins
When you’re growing your business, it can be disheartening to see larger firms rack up awards while your small shop feels left out. While you may not be at the top of every “best of” list, be proud of the work that you’re doing, and take time to celebrate your small wins.
Celebrate Your Wins as an Advisor
Are your clients happy? You likely got into the business to help improve your client’s lives, and if you’re doing that, celebrate it. If you’re helping clients to improve their financial situations, that’s a win and something to celebrate.
Do your employees and your clients have tenure? If your employees and your clients are both sticking around, that’s a good sign that you’re on the right track with your business. Maintaining your clients with low turnover is something to be proud of, as is maintaining your employee count without turnover. Celebrate both of those wins.
How do you balance your work and your life? Are you living to work, or do you spend time with your family and friends, and enjoy your hobbies and passions? If you’re feeling fulfilled in your life in general, that’s more than many people can say, and definitely something to celebrate.
Are you furthering yourself professionally? Do you keep up with earning additional professional certifications and credits or designations? Do you stay up to date with CE credits? If you’re valuing your education and furthering your career, give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate.
When you sit down and take stock of all of the good things that you are doing, not only in your business but in your life in general, you may find that there is plenty to celebrate today and every day. Don’t get caught up in the comparison game, but rather compare yourself to how you were doing a year ago, or three years ago, and see what you’ve learned and how far you’ve come since then.
